22nd Bathurst Swap Meet
Bathurst Showground.
MAJOR CHANGES FOR 2008
BATHURST SWAP MEET
Bathurst Historic
Car Club will be holding its 22nd Swap Meet on Sunday 3rd February 2008.
This is one of the
largest inland Swap Meets in New South Wales. Over the last few years
it has grown to a two day Swap Meet. Stall holders have been arriving
as early as Wednesday and the public has been arriving looking for that
elusive bargain from Friday. This practice has stretched the resources
of our small club to the limit.
Last year there
was an overwhelming request from both sellers and buyers to return the
Bathurst Swap to its former one day status. Many stall holders were
finding they couldn’t spend the full time at the Swap Meet, and buyers
were not coming on Sunday as there was very little extra to see.
Unfortunately,
many sellers and buyers said they would not be returning to the Bathurst
Swap Meet if things did not change.
Therefore, the
current committee has made the decision that the 2008 Bathurst Swap Meet
will be a one day only event. To achieve this, they have had to make
some difficult decisions, the main one being that the Showground gates
will be locked until 3.00pm on Saturday afternoon, after which, stall
holders may enter and commence setting up their stalls and camp
overnight.
Gates will open to
the public on Sunday at 6.00am. There will be catering by the Holy
Family School on Sunday.
Admission is still
only $3.00 per adult, with outdoor sites free and indoor sites
$25.00.
For all enquiries
please contact Mick Hope on 02 6337 5694 or 0408 415 525 or Norm
