“CANCELLED” The BERWICK SWAP MEET,
Saturday 5th February 2011
We would
like to thank all our supporters, Sellers &
Buyers for their support. Due to circumstances
beyond anyone’s control the Berwick Swap was
cancelled because of the unprecedented amount of
water that fell on us Friday and Saturday.
The gully
area was under more than 1M of water and flowing
very fast. We got the stall holders from there
out at 9.00pm Friday, any later and they would
have been washed away. The whole oval was
holding 50mm of water and just could not drain
away. The rain kept up all Friday night and
Saturday morning and most of the roads around
Berwick were blocked, so access for many people
would have been impossible. Even still we were
turning people away up to 9.00am Saturday.
As yet the
DVHCC Inc. has not made a decision as to
re-schedule or not because Akoonah Park is
usually fully booked and at present is in need
of major repairs especially the oval. Keep

24th Picnic at Hanging Rock
The event takes place at the world famous Hanging Rock
Reserve near Woodend, approximately 50 minutes north of Melbourne.
The event is primarily for the showing of Vintage,
Veteran, Classic and ‘special interest’ vehicles along with Roadsters
and Motorcycles. One of Australia's biggest Car Shows with 3,500 entrants as well as more than 10,000 people. The Picnic
includes a number of free displays and attractions suitable for all
ages, including miniature steam train rides,
Rocker Cover Races, games for children, an animal
farm as well as a range of presentations from our sponsors. Apart from
the excellent display of vehicles, visitors are able to climb the
‘Rock’, as well as enjoy a family picnic and great day out.
