An Important
Message from Steve Bowman

As some of you
know (but most of you don’t) I’ve decided to run for State Parliament at
the next election and have been endorsed as the Candidate for Currumbin
representing Katter’s Australian Party. The reason is simple… I’m sick
of being told what to do and how to run my life by an incompetent
government who’s only interests are degrading our civil liberties,
selling off our state-owned assets and doing anything they can to raise
revenue from us so they can keep their jobs, their limousines and their
superannuation payouts.
That sounds like a bit of a rave but I’m passionate about making a
difference and returning Queensland to the best and most liveable state
in Australia and getting rid of the prevailing “Nanny State” attitude.
The NSW government is in the process of trying to eliminate modified
cars all together. The NSW Ombudsman was quoted as saying “allowing
vehicle modifications is simply pandering to the egos of those who want
to be different”. Another public servant during a meeting with the ASRF
was quoted as saying that “Hot Rods are just a dick thing”!
This is coming from an LNP Government so this is what we can look
forward to in Queensland if the LNP gains power after the next election
which will be held in the next few months.
It’s already starting in Queensland with the ASRF being advised by
Queensland Transport yesterday that Hot Rods with Air Bag suspension
will no longer be legal for registration in this State.
On Saturday 17th December we have the opportunity to show Bob Katter and
Aidan McLindon, and the Aus Party Gold Coast Candidates, who we are and
why we enjoy our hobby so much. We’re holding a free BBQ breakfast at
Queen Elizabeth II Park in Coolangatta from 7:30 am and I’d like to
invite everyone with a Hot Rod, Custom, Classic, Street Machine or Bike
to come along and be part of this event.
We need to act now before a bunch of bureaucrats advise ill-informed
politicians to legislate our hobby out of existence.
Please let me know numbers as soon as possible for catering.

This coming Saturday 17th
December at 8am, 16 Queens Road Kingston, Tribe of Judah Care Services
will be handing out over 100 pallets of free fresh food with around 30
pallets of brand new free toys.
You and your families are
welcome to come along and receive free food and free toys, please ensure
to bring bags to carry your freebies. Your also welcome to volunteer
handing out the free food to the community, our volunteers arrive
anywhere between 3am and 7am on the day for set up and de-briefing.
We
usually have around five to six thousand people attend the free food
giveaways.
A reminder that the
Tribe of Judah Motorcycle Ministries will be holding our annual
charity bike run on Saturday the 21st January. We will be
handing out cash prizes on the day, only to those on the ride.
